Speaking of bugs, my daughter wrote an essay on the mantis shrimp for one of her college applications. Did you know that a mantis shrimp can strike its foe with such speed that its arm causes the water TO BOIL? If humans had 1/10th the arm strength of a mantis shrimp, we could throw an object... into orbit.

Givin' thanks now...here for last portion of show after weeks missed.
I identify with bongo bug. Had a drumming dream last night: supporting a Phil Collins-ish performer, I had a full kit but was mostly playing brushes assertively on two small table-top cymbals on little stands, and I couldn't keep up on the kick drum after a while, which had a heavy pedal over-rigged with cumbersome worn leather straps/stirrup. Jung, and Joseph from the book of Genesis, and any random amateur analyst on the next barstool would say this is a "not cutting the mustard" dream.

This track comes from a one-sided record. The performance comes from a live concert in Basel, Switzerland. The rest of the performance was released on a Steve Lacy record (the name escapes me) and this track was left off. (Being 19 minutes, it didn't fit.) Roaratorio released it as a single-track record and called it The Rest because it was the rest of the performance.
