"Wow and Flutter" is a fave Stereolab song of mine, Jesse, ;)
Avatar 10:03pm
Kris Holmes:

not otis, that one just skipped unexpectedly by itself
Avatar 10:04pm
still b/p:

Was this in Dirty Dancing or something? I like the song, but there's some vague later faintly spoiling association with a cheesy movie.

coelacanth∅:

the contours were so good...and motown was too stupid to propel them.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Uncle Michael:

Always blame Otis.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:04pm
Little Danny:

c'mon Kris, you can afford a non-skipping version of the Contours!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:05pm
coelacanth∅:

howdy Kris and homies

Love this Unifics, best track from this LP
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:11pm

In The Basement with Etta is my fave.
Avatar 10:12pm

Unifics LP is an underrated gem of 60s group soul LPs

JtotheK:

@UM - oooh, in the basement is fantastic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:13pm
Little Danny:

Shoot, this was a 45?!
Avatar 10:14pm
Kris Holmes:

sure is, flip is Toshimasu
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:20pm
Little Danny:

I don't think I'd ever noticed it before, but this Patterson seems to evoke a bit of Sly and the Family Stone
Avatar 10:21pm
Kris Holmes:

maybe a bit, it's much harder to my ears though.

Nice Motown streak!
Avatar 11:09pm
Kris Holmes:

i'm all about the slightly less obvious ones ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:11pm
Little Danny:

p.s. Me too, though I'm just now sorting out the catalog. How many Motown 45s you reckon you own?
Avatar 11:14pm
Kris Holmes:

oh man, at least a couple hundred, maybe more
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:15pm
Little Danny:

Whoa. I have like ten max but am looking to expand their population
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:16pm
JtotheK:

there's so much to learn about lesser known motown 45s. satintones 'my kind of love' was a new one to me this year.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:18pm
JtotheK:

temptations 'girl why you wanna make me blue' is another one - i gotta find a clean copy of that 45.
Avatar 11:19pm
Kris Holmes:

I have 312 on Motown, Tamla & Gordy........ also I have some on Soul but can't get a quick tally on those
Avatar 11:24pm
Kris Holmes:

Jason, yep, such a deep catalog once you delve in, even like with that Temps track, with the major artists
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:25pm
Little Danny:

Hey Jason! Agreed. Fave recent Motown acquisition have been the Spinners' "I'll Always Love You," Marvin Gaye's "When I Had Your Love" and the Isleys' "Why When Love Is Gone."
Avatar 11:29pm
Kris Holmes:

that Isley's is killer
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:34pm
JtotheK:

spinners 'truly yours' on motown is good, too. that isleys is great.
Avatar 11:35pm
Kris Holmes:

Spinners on Motown, I don't know if there is a bad side really.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41pm
Little Danny:

thanks Kris, I'm checking out for the night
Avatar 11:42pm
Kris Holmes:

good night Dan, thanks for tuning in!

Not sure how it's possible, but I'm still unpacking, organizing my new home. I feel more comfortable at work, so, I'm getting off earlier (even though there is usually no one there and it's an honor system) Thanks for the digdugs, Kris!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46pm

good evening to you danny!
Avatar 11:48pm

2 months, I've been working long hours to ensure they no I'm capable and solving their long neglected problems. I've also been researching subtropical botanic ecosystems so I sound like I know what I'm talking about at work (reading after work). Also, reconnecting w/ my brothers every third weekend since they're only 2+ hours away. I also lost a week + due to hurricane Irma and had to make up the time at work. salud Kris!
