Well, I'm overly literal, and "she's about a mover" doesn't really scan, in any traditional way.

I always wondered if it was a Texas-ism or just a weird turn of phrase to fit the music

Hello Larry.

Jeff, it's been like that for over half a century. Time to let it go. I mean Sir Douglas, that's bonkers enough.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
Funky16Corners:

Hi Brian!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
doctorjazz:

Never did get that title either, @JeffG, but I wouldn't argue with royalty, as BiUK points out...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:14pm
Jeff Golick:

I found this in a youtube comment: "She's About a Mover" = "she's a body mover," elided for the audience's delicate sensibilities in 1965.

@Brian: were it only possible to "let it go," life would be so easy.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:33pm
Uncle Michael:

My SDQ experience was suitably weird. I saw them in around '83. What transpired can only be made sense of if there was miscommunication with the promoter with regard to two sets vs. early and late shows. They played for an hour and a half, took a break, came back and played the same set a second time for the same audience. A lot of people didn't stay into the wee hours to hear the same show twice.
