Almost Meat Puppet-like...I had no idea that Wm. Berger was such a talented musician until after his passing, having only occasionally listened to him on MCOQ (death/black metal not really my bag but would listen to change things up from time to time.) I've been listening to WFMU for a number of years now and yet I still feel like the out-of-the-loop latecomer to a really cool party that's been going on for years and years.

Rest In Power, Wm!

I gotta admit, this Phlegm death metal is making me laugh hard. And I think that might have been the intention, given the name of the album. Or, maybe I Just Don't Get It. (Or need a catharsis that much.)

Howdy folks!

Yeah, Wm.Berger's passing hit me a little harder than I might have expected. In general the music he played on the Castle wasn't exactly my cup of tea but the dude had such a great presence. Because of that show I gave a lot of music a chance that I probably wouldn't have otherwise. It's been nice to hear all the tributes for the past week or so.
