Avatar 1:10pm northguineahills:

Other Music closed? I was still in NYC in the summer of 2016 and I had no idea (my wife put a moratorium of me buying music in 2010, so, that's probably why I didn't notice). Still, I thought I would have heard something.
  1:11pm icesurfer505:

Hola Joe, I was the guy on crutches at the Union Pool 21st bday bash. Great show! Back in New Mexico streaming you en vivo con amigos. Thanks for turning us on to Antietam, new stuff for us, we'll be looking for them out this way. Gracias, love this show!
Avatar 1:12pm SmokinJ:

Rockin'! Cheers Joe & all.. :)>
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:12pm coelacanth∅:

nice! ...i like this creedence's-version-of-suzie-q-inspired song!
  1:15pm Amy:

Tuned in just in time to miss Antietam. Oops.
  1:17pm Amy:

Then again, I also tuned in right in the middle of a crazed guitar break on "Halloween," so my timing isn't completely messed up.
Avatar 1:19pm SmokinJ:

Atta' girl!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:25pm Parq:

North Guinea @ 1:10, yeah, blows, doesn't it? I don't think there's a single good indy record store left in Manhattan, although there are still some good used/collector stores.
  1:29pm medson:

My father worked for John Scher.
I got to see so many shows at the Capitol Theatre in Passaic. Great old venue that sadly met the wrecking ball.
  1:31pm Amy:

I was enjoying that history of the Dream Syndicate.
Avatar 1:32pm northguineahills:

@Parq: Does the Downtown Music Gallery still exist? It was still there in Chinatown near the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges last yearish.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:34pm Parq:

NGH, good question. I've been meaning to go down there for a couple of years now, and haven't made it. Heck, it took me five years to get around to taking Mrs. Parq to Economy Candy. For what it's worth, Google lists it as open right now.
  1:35pm medson:

Great interview !!!!!
  1:36pm Andrew:

Does Steve have any recollection of playing a show at Gerde's Folk City with Dream Syndicate?
  1:36pm Amy:

If these songs are any indication, the new album is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:40pm doctorjazz:

The last I knew, the Downtown Music Gallery was still there (used to get emails from them with record offers, but they stopped...). Was good for jazz and "new music", had concerts there that I always wanted to get to, but never did.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:42pm doctorjazz:

I see Matthew Sweet at the beginning of the playlist (missed that)-he's playing in Jersey, at the South Orange Performance Center, 9/24 (saw him years ago).
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:46pm Michael 98145:

@ngh, speaking of Other Music : www.kickstarter.com...
Avatar 1:48pm Aaron Working In Newark:

I seen Steve at a Bob Dylan fest at a winery in NY state a few years ago and he and his band ripped!
  1:55pm Figures of Light:

Great stuff on a rainy Monday! Keep it coming!!
  1:58pm Amy:

Really enjoyable interview, Joe. Great tunes too.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:58pm I am the Upsetter:

It's so good to hear Kendra!
  1:59pm steve from gberg:

YES! Kendra!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:59pm Tim 07030:

Man, this is excellent.
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:01pm Hoboken Jack:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:02pm Michael 98145:

  2:07pm Bobby:

Yeahyeah THIS
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:09pm ChrisB.:

Found out yesterday that Steve is also a fan of author Richard Ford, and found inspriration for the new song "Glide," from his writing. Cool.
  2:10pm frenchee:

WOW!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:14pm Mick:

Joe, today's show is setting a new bar! That Solid Sound show was incredible!!!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:18pm Tim 07030:

Ha, new print editions of the Voice also still available in Long Island City!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:21pm Uncle Michael:

Joe, does Steve recall anything of the night of "This is Not the New Dream Syndicate Album?" I was there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:24pm Michael 98145:

Screw Spotify, Ken should give us a Steve Wynn DJ special ...
Avatar 2:26pm northguineahills:

What Michael said...
  2:30pm Tom from DC:

Thanks for the 2nd dose of Grant Hart. Met him once at Maxwell's back in the day. Kind of aloof to put it diplomatically. But what a great songwriter.
Avatar 2:31pm Wild Neil:

PEACE all. @cesurfer505:I went to NMSU in Lac Cruces. Where are you in NM?
Avatar 2:31pm Wild Neil:

Avi Buffalo sure sounds a LOT like The Shins. In a higher pitch.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:33pm coelacanth∅:

i know little of and have nothing against Bob Mould, but when i met them (and we spent some time together - after their show and then went to the diner) Grant was by far the friendliest, nicest, and most interesting conversationally of the 3. i'm pretty sure he sang the majority of their songs that night too, for some reason.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:34pm coelacanth∅:

this reminds me of nice purse
  2:34pm SeanG:

what a show dude!
Avatar 2:34pm icesurfer505:

Las Huertas Canyon, Sandoval County, between Abq and SF
Avatar 2:37pm icesurfer505:

Joe's echoing off the canyon walls serenading coyotes and bobcats ;)
  2:39pm mary gidge:

Fantastic stories. Don't shut up!
Avatar 2:39pm Wild Neil:

icesurfer-you live in a National Forest? You can DO that? Maybe you are camping? Sounds beautiful.
  2:40pm Will-X:

"Timothy" written by Rupert Holmes!
Avatar 👻 Swag For Life Member 2:41pm ChrisB.:

I never heard Timothy until quite recently, but my wife says it was a big regional hit at the time in Syracuse.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:41pm Stevel:

I was always a sucker for melodramatic pop epics. "Timothy" was no exception.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:42pm KevinfromBayRidge:

You'se guys are a deadly duo! Another great show, Mr B et al.
Avatar 2:43pm V Priceless:

great Move cover! Mick Ronson also does a bang up job covering this
Avatar 2:43pm icesurfer505:

Yes, edge of Cibola Nat'l Forest.
Avatar 2:49pm geezerette:

Buddhism. He's being realistic, the landscape has changed.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:50pm Michael 98145:

Great! Big fan of The Only Ones, too ...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:51pm Parq:

God, it's been more than 38 years since I did a radio show, and I *just last night* had another deejay nightmare.
  2:53pm Dennis Diken:

hey Joe! hey Steve! diggin'!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:53pm Uncle Michael:

The Peter Perrett album is so freaking good.
Avatar 2:54pm geezerette:

Hooked on this sound.
  2:54pm Amy:

Joe, could you and Steve please stay on the air for a few more hours?
  3:35pm Mark in Toronto:

Re: Timothy - was written by Rupert Holmes (of the famed Pina Colada song)!
