September 13, 2017: Live music from MONK PARKER!
Simmering in the fertile musical casserole of Austin, Texas, Monk Parker returns to WFMU to bring his shimmering, eloquent songs on today's episode of 100% Whatever. At times haunting and mournful, with guitar, organ and horns washing over each other in a reverb sea, it’s the perfect sound of twilight; those hours just before the sky goes completely black. Currently on tour to promote his second album, “Crown Of Sparrows,” released on August 4th on Grand Jury Music; I'm thrilled to have him back on the show!

I'm not sure why Gary spelled it LeFrak; that threw me for a moment, heh.

Oh, and "Nun With A Chainsaw" would be a good name for a band. Am I right?

I can see that, Ike, especially since there aren't too many really tall buildings in the boroughs (yet).
