This Emery Counard tune is so good! I've always wanted to know more about him... but the only think I can find is this one piece on this great Yazoo comp. He has such a cool lending of Trinidadian styles with killer slide technique. His playing is pure velocity of joy. Such good stuff for the morning.

#Dean... Television Personalities early single about living in a London tower block.."14th Floor".

Sort of about elevators if you think of living in a tower block.

Heh, Mrs. Miller's Greatest Hits is among the couple dozen LPs in the front room with the turntable. And I'm the dad.

just tuned in - yeeeeah, La Go-Go's! i'm pretty sure WLIR aired a live show of theirs, maybe this very one, in early 80s. i mighta taped it. and, John Doe recently played Terry Hall at wfmu. great show (thx for not throwing me out, joe.). in his L.A. punk book, Jane Wiedlin (?) wrote a chapter, and said she was driving and cried when Rodney on the ROQ played their record, hearing her band for the first time on the airwaves. awww.
