I think I have curious anti-tick luck. I worry because Lyme's too common here in Maine, where I get out in the woods and scrub often enough, and there's some biking and wandering around Cape Cod where it's an even greater risk. But I rarely find a wood or deer tick aboard my carcass or clothes, and can't remember if I ever had one embedded. Howz come? | |

@βrian My father's memory of his service in the Battle of the Bulge was just about the last solid grounding in reality he had. Lost that about six months ago. Up until about six weeks ago, he still recognized me when I walked in the room. Seeing his eyes brighten and his brow unfurrow was a major lift for me (and surely him). On Father's Day, we went to visit him with a cake and he was chowing it down and chattering away, though still very out of it. | |
