Here today 5-7pm ET, we'll hear and ruminate together!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:49am Dave in Vermont:

I won't get in trouble for listening in the past will I?
Avatar 9:05am Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

You willn't would already have doing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:00pm Rich in Washington:

Whenever I am on vacation, the calendar stops in my head. I forget that shows I enjoy are on, are going to be on, etc.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:01pm listener james from westwood:

Good Wednesday, Kenzo and all!
  5:01pm Bliss:

I remember this show. I am on it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:03pm fred:

Good afternoon Kenzo and everyone. I promise I won't play any other show along with this one this time
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:04pm cklequ:

I'm always listening in the past, Dave.
I've never had a problem.
Avatar 5:05pm mossy lightouse:

I was remembering this show earlier today! This year has brought many different rhythms within each show and then of course between each of them, which can't really be described but very much felt!
  5:15pm Bliss:

At least I am pretty sure I am on it, at some point.
I'm not the "yes" guy though.
Avatar 5:18pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

You were the late Fall guy
Avatar 5:21pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Rich: Thanks for vacating your memory
Avatar 5:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@James: Every day is Wednesday
Avatar 5:22pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Fred: Today's show goes well with next week's show
Avatar 5:24pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@cklequ: That passes as pretense
Avatar 5:26pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@mossy: This show was one of two todays, an afternoon and a nighttime. They remember each other.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:26pm cklequ:

I'm also always listening in the future.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:27pm Little Danny:

Hi Ken! Hi all!
Avatar 5:27pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Hi, you're on the air
  5:28pm Bliss:

Hahaha
Avatar 5:28pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@Little Danny: Hi! Hi!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:29pm fred:

@Kenzo: maybe I'll play both at the same time later, maybe even next week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm cklequ:

I already miss Ramu.
Avatar 5:35pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I want Bliss to meet Ramu so they can find out what kind of beings they are.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:40pm fred:

There was an address by the director to the peons at work today. At one point his voice was repeated with maybe half-a-second delay, fading then going back up. It didn't last long, maybe 4 such cycles. Most interesting talk I ever heard from him. Unfortunately they fixed the "issue" and that meeting droned on for one more hour
  5:42pm Bliss:

@fred
Just think if they had left the issue and added drone sounds as well.
Avatar 5:43pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Bookmark, two minutes ago, what happens to fear
  5:44pm Bliss:

It would've been cool. That's all.
Avatar 5:44pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

@fred: Live call in your meeting to my show one week
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:46pm fred:

@Kenzo: I'd need a time-travel app for that, and I don't even have a phone
Avatar 5:50pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

(David Lynch)
  5:51pm Bliss:

@fred
Are you one of those people that only call out from work when very very ill, or not?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:51pm cklequ:

This is hypnotizing.
Unfortunately i have an obligation to go out and dig in the dirt.
Though, there's something to be said for digging in the dirt.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm fred:

@Bliss: I wish. But at best it would have come close to Kenny G, not Kenzo (and "hour of pain" seems fitting). Topics discussed: an overhaul of the scientific governance of the lab, and plans to remove asbestos from the concert hall (not reopening before 2020 at best)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:52pm Little Danny:

I swear I just heard a snippet of the Focus Group
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm Rich in Washington:

Is David talking about the suffocating rubber clown suit again?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm listener james from westwood:

Good old Gene!
  5:54pm Bliss:

@cklequ
I live in the Bronx. No dirt to dig in. Nice breeze though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:54pm fred:

@Bliss: I have an entrenched and by now respected tradition of taking two weeks off work for the Sonic Protest festival
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:55pm listener james from westwood:

Bliss: This Bronx native waves.
  5:56pm Bliss:

@listener james from westwood
I wave back.
Avatar 5:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Rare moment of clarity: The show that will air next week (Ramu Misses You) happened a few hours after this one (Waiting For Ramu), and is something of a remix of this one, and is my favorite half of this two-show, one-day show pair
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:57pm Rich in Washington:

I think the last episode of Twin Peaks was fantastic. I think there's something to his creative process, despite what I thought about his last two films.
Avatar 5:58pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

P.S. You're listening to WFMU's Give the Drummer Radio
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:00pm fred:

Thanks, Kenzo! Can't wait for next week, etc...
Avatar 6:01pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Vangelis, Steve Paxton, Richard Stallman, River Phoenix
Avatar 6:01pm mossy lightouse:

I was only able to hear the first hour of the night show through the WTJU archive some time soon after it aired. Very glad to be able to relisten and then hear the second half very soon!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm Rich in Washington:

I may have to give Inland Empire another try. I don't think I even finished it.
Avatar 6:02pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Alan Watts
  6:04pm Bliss:

Was Stallman in there?
Avatar 6:05pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:31pm Gary:

Hola, Ken & Kenzoids
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:32pm fred:

@Kenzo: are you touring these days?
Avatar 6:38pm mossy lightouse:

Existence seems to culminate and regroup similarly to contact improvisation! i have not been able to experience official contact improvisation yet.

Hearing sound collage balance, progress and culminate is to me most compelling! While i do love hearing instrumental improvisation reach various forms of transfigurating, I interpret our insides, and outsides, as a vast collage. So, sound collage improvisation seems to form a uniquely complete connection and resonance.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:38pm aratuk:

Bohemian dances by the dø?
Avatar 6:43pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I just had a live show moment listening to this while exchanging an experiential conversation with a passer by in the woods about presence, reconditioning, power children... As this show played with us
Avatar 6:44pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

aratuk: thanks, great memory! My woods passerby asked and I didn't remember what it was
Avatar 6:45pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Fred, doing the weekly shows this summer. Tour idea may return in the future
Avatar 6:47pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Hi Gary! I write from an improvisational retreat in the woods. Just renamed wetreat
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:47pm Gary:

Hope wetreating you well :)
Avatar 6:51pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

We can just trust ourselves
Avatar 6:56pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

I love you all. Please be with me next week for part 2! Write me if you haven't
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:56pm listener james from westwood:

Thanks, Kenzo!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:57pm fred:

Thanks Kenzo, this was worth staying up for (well 'up" isn't accurate, I'm sprawled on the floor because I have no furniture)
Avatar 6:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Today's archive is already posted and is high quality audio
Avatar 6:57pm Kenzo (Ken's Last Ever):

Thanks, Fred. I also stayed up for it
