Ridgewood Radio features concert recordings by adventurous bands and experimental musicians and restored archival tapes from private and institutional collections captured at venues large and small across the five boroughs of New York. It is produced by David Weinstein and Outpost Artists Resources operating out of the Ridgewood section of Queens, NY, where you'll find more yellow bricks than on the road to Oz and the cemetery of your choice is never more than a few blocks from home.

I like this BKLN!ZULU. It sounds like the kind of show I often go to, and at which many of my friends play

DJs gone wild! A very creative scene. The videos are good too.

@fred: The first two minutes reminded me of one groups I played in 10+ years ago.

Maybe Fred was at a Guinea gig years ago?

@geezerette: Did you see the stories about NPR tweeting the declaration of independence?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:08pm
Webhamster Henry:

@fred I did and it's so funny I suspect it's kind of fake! But also, it's believable enough to be true, and either way, the incendiary language of the D of I needs to be highlighted every once in a while. How dod we ever win that war, anyway?

loving this Joseph set!
Avatar 4:18pm
northguineahills:

This Dan Joseph reminds me of Aaron Spectre. He also uses the same instrumentation.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
weinstein:

The number of hammer dulcimers that have crossed into "new" music this last year is surprising.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:20pm

Dan Joseph has been at it for years. His XI CD has pieces from 1998.

Thanks @Fred!

Mine kind of crossed over ... I'm playing humpback whale noises on it with a Wond. www.kickstarter.com...
Avatar 4:26pm
northguineahills:

Yeah, Aaron Spectre's first CD came out in 2001, then he left for Berlin in 2003, not sure what's he's released since 2010.

fred:

@BKLYN!ZULU: I'm in France so I guess my chances of seeing you live are close to nil. Maybe you'll play at Sonic Protest or Instants Chavirés some day.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 4:28pm
weinstein:

Just peeked at the Spectre site. He h as a lot to say there, including plans going to 2099!
  4:34pm
BKLYN!ZULU:

@fred we'd love to come to France to perform! If you have any connections to those festivals - please let us know! Feel free to follow us on Facebook or Instagram for updates. @bklynzulu

He used to do a lot of electro-acoustic stuff mixed w/ jungle/ d&b. Sometimes just noise/electro-acoustic, sometimes just jungle, usually a hybrid of both.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:40pm
fred:

@BKLYN!ZULU: I'm only a regular audience member, so I have no input into programming. Both are shoestring operations though, who couldn't afford to fly you over here. Unless you happen to tour Europe, it doesn't look promising (Instants Chavirés is a venue, Sonic Protest is a festival)
  4:43pm
BKLYN!ZULU:

@fred gotcha. still good to know. Thanks for the info!
