A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

I like the Gilla Ayres mural. The blue & yellow guy in the middle is saying like, "Why are you plants all confused?" Or maybe s/he's upset that the plants are sad.

Good morning, Trouble. This Karin Krog is kinda like a lazy Petra Haden effort of a song. Ohh. Now its getting a lil like a Leon Thomas effort.

you are not alone listener robert. I think she was popular in europe and within a select jazz crowd here. but thankfully, her light in the attic anthology 'don't just sing', changed that.

I'm interested in hearing what constituted a "new age" record in 1950! This Constance Demby track is beautiful, though.

it's a very "new" website designed mosty to eliminate the advertising and promotional tactics of FB. it's divided into sections such as hundreds of groups, channels, blogs. a member is able to subscribe to anyone they choose. a newsfeed is full of your subscriptions and those "boosted" by the channel owner, which is easily blocked if you do not like the content. all points of view, all walks of life. many artists, musicians, and rabble rousers..

michael pestel!!!! a good frind of mine.... i was hoping to hear his name as this conversation went by...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:07am
steveo:

"Lyanda Lynn Haupt raised a starling of her own to see if the tale of Mozart and his starling could be true. Her experience brings the legend of musician and bird into our present world where science rules. Yet even today, the song of the starling, but a minute in length, lies at the very limits of human comprehension. Read the book and you will learn why."―David Rothenberg, author of Why Birds Sing and Survival of the Beautiful

even thinking that there is no connection amongst all these noises and sounds, and how we/they interact accordingly ... this is a serious disconnect from nature.

My friends Nadine & Charlie were regularly visited by a mockingbird (that later Nadine concluded was more likely a blue jay) who used to imitate her alarm clock. They named him Tweedle-Dee Clock Mocker -- Mockie for short. After an interval of a few years when they weren't visited by him and Charlie died, Nadine said a bird came and said, "Tweedle-dee...dee?"
