That Air was from the 70s? Swear to god they all looked like they were from Chicago or Brooklyn or somewhere like that right now..,

Passaic River Blues:

I just read a fairly crappy but still enjoyable Prince biography, in which it's discussed that Prince lied about his age when courting and signing with Warner Brothers. He said he was 17 but he had really already attained the advanced age of 19.
  1:41pm
Cecile:

Now, did Brazilian music influence Joni Mitchell, the other way around, or was there any kind of back and forth conversation?
  1:44pm
Anonymous Coward:

@Cecile - Brasil 66 is your answer
Avatar 1:44pm
Duane:

Cecile: More the other way around i think. Joni's mentioned that by '71 she was mainly solely interested in Brazilian music and Jazz. Terry Reid the same
Avatar 1:45pm
Duane:

Terry Reid saying he was influenced by Veloso, Gil and Nascimento
Avatar 1:46pm
Jshatan:

This Joyce is just dreamy.
  1:47pm
Cecile:

That makes a whole lot of sense! Thanks Duane.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:48pm
Passaic River Blues:

Wow, I just started Veloso's memoir this morning on the PATH train, "Tropical Truth". So far, about 25 pages in, Veloso is showing he's a brilliant dude and worships Joao Gilberto.
