Feeling fortunate to have seen Gregg play with the Allman's a couple times over the years. Once @ the Beacon, and 2x at DTE/Pine Knob, the Shed north of Detroit. ABB always had smoking guitarists, so it was always great to see them.

Beautiful start, Jeff. I work for a photo archive and the photographer shot the Allman's and Dead in a jam together in Aug of '72 at The Gaelic Park Sports Centre in the Bronx. I always wondered if that boot was out there. Any idea Jeff?

Yeah, 73 is by far my favorite year. After seeing the doc today, I really wanted to do all GD but I have a very sick track premiere for later so maybe I'll do the all-GD when its least expected.

Hello Mr Conklin, greetings from Baja California again, where a sliver of moon gently lights the hills and island across the bay as it slowly descends into the Pacific horizon, the cats and recent rescue dog lounge peacefully around the place, and I'm carrying a kratom and kava buzz.
And as always while connecting with your show, here I am visualizing how the late night South Manhattan skyline looks like from across the Hudson, and how much I'd love to dig into a Katz pea soup, sandwich and pickles.
In a nutshell, another lovely, mellow Sunday night... holy cow, The Myrrors sound like a spectacular shamanic freakout, flute and bicycle bell in there, to boot!

I've read interviews with Gregg that said he was fine with it. I think disowning the phrase would be like saying you don't want to use the phrase "psychedelic rock" because of all the shitty psych bands that came later.

Yes, I agree it's limiting, and it's too bad lots of people associate "southern rock" with southern rednecks how like the confederate flag. I like the phrase "southern rock" because it highlights the regional flavor of the Allman's music (both in terms of their influences and actual location). Anyway, I didn't want to debate this. I was just interested in understanding your dislike. Thanks.
