	12:33pm Mayuko: Oh that's cool, tmoyo san! I wish I had at least a slightest clue in reading Portugues. I actually don't know why they started Samba festival in Asakusa, but it kinda makes sense to me. Fits that neighborhood.

	1:33pm Dave in Vermont: greetings, heard some driving around, but missed some running around, what i've heard and what i haven't heard has been sounding great It was nice to hear about the Okinawan music. I had a professor whose parents were from there and we studied some Okinawan literature.
	1:41pm Mayuko: @Dave in Vermont Okinawan literature!!! That's amazing! I have to confess despite of my love for Okinawa music, I am totally ignorant about literature. From which period were the books you read with the professor?
	1:45pm Mayuko: I've been discussing with Rob Weisberg about doing a guest DJ with him on Transpacific Sound Paradise - planning to do all Okinawa music sets. I hope it will happen soon! It might be interesting to you too, @Dave
	1:48pm Dave in Vermont: The class was about Japanese literature that related to WWII. When we focused on Okinawa there was lots of short stories from the '60s through the '90s, some of which my prof translated. Our main focus was on a novella by Medoruma Shun. Let me know the date and I will pass it on to my professor. I am sure he would be interested too.

More and more I feel the need for learning about WW2 this past couple of years. Good to look at it from as many point of views as I can, from Okinawa, from main island, from minorities, etc, literature should be a great way to learn those.

And I also have a small cheap plastic figure of her on one of my stereo's speaker (given to me by a Laotian friend) and a bigger mask on a wall (also a gift).
