@Doug, don't know what colleges you are considering, but I'd recommend checking out TCNJ. We really like the school, administration is quite helpful, and it has some excellent programs (Education and Biology, to name 2 I know of). And it is reasonable (by today's college insane standards...remember when CUNY was free, but never mind), even for out of state students (I know a New York family with kids there). The only problem is that it is isolated, nothing much around (that could also be viewed as a positive, less distractions). Just Sayin'...

I have a door varnishing project coming up. Per the boatbuilder's specs, it will get 3 coats of 2-part epoxy resin, then 7 coats of Epifanes spar varnish. Oh boy.

Short-grain rice is the main staple in our household. I can cook it in my sleep.

Apparently, the epoxy offers little sealing against water absorption but serves to bind varnish to wood. I've followed the process once before, and it has held up.

I think 7 coats varnish and 3 of epoxy is what you use to preserve a human, if you're, like, crazy....in a Hammer Films kind of way.

There is a huge fish emporium here in Pittsburgh called Wholley's. (Some may remember that I saw a concert performed by the great Fredric Rzweski at Wholley's Fish Market a few years back.)
