One of them wished for spurious signals to emanate on a certain frequency. That made me curious, so I tuned that frequency in, found WBAB, and liked it a lot. I'd previously been unaware of WBAB as a competitor to them!

The song was The Way of Life. We were a synth-pop duo called The Puppets. WLIR was so supportive of New York City bands.
