Good Morning!!!!
The first time I heard Empire State of Mind, I was shocked. I thought it was a TV commercial for the Knicks. Had no idea it was a full song.
No traffic that I know of today, so get out there and cause some!!!!!!

Great Devo song.
Only mistake is caused by Cologne Radio WDR2 back in 1981/82.
They played it every (sic!) day on the same news show.
It became a torture.

Thanks Glen and Joe as a former Viewer of the Week on the Uncle Floyd show I appreciate that tune

Listener Robert:

I hope "Common People" isn't a true story. Because it seems like a foreigner made a careless unintentional insult to someone, & then got back a far more severe insult intentionally.
  8:00am
Listener Robert:

Seems I'm the king of unintentional insults in these comments, BTW.

Peace all. I think The Partridge Family un-ironically rocks. Irony is so 1995 anyway....donate...donate! DONAAAAATTTTTEEEEE!!!!!!!!!

Lets stop the insults people...
  8:03am
Listener Robert:

I screwed myself yesterday. Got in some American cheese, consumed over 2g of Na+ over 12 hrs., the last just before bed, then awoke at 3 AM feeling something wrong. This morning I realize I'm in atrial fibrill'n for the 1st time since 2015. I'm hoping my heart finds sinus rhythm again as the day goes on & I take care of biz.
Avatar 8:03am
annie:

oh, no.. i was wondering if the term had been buried, along with all the other baseball-centric jargon...maybe since i stopped listening to commercial radio....a couple of radio guys came in our store in oneonta to ask fo chopped onions because damaschke field didn't offer them. i chopped one up for him..
  8:05am
noel:

It's not the sodium it's the Tyramine in the cheese.
Avatar 8:07am
rjk:

Common People is a true story. The Greek economist Yanis Varoufakis's wife, the artist Danae Stratou is supposedly the women involved.

On a separate note, there is a strange synchronicity between the 'Judas' comment and the anonymous coward who keeps getting deleted.

Love Jonesey in this slot. Really hope you get it Glen.
Avatar 8:13am
Wild Neil:

Synchronicity is DEFINITELY real. For sure.
Get well, listener Robert.
Devo is amazing and Mark Mothersbaugh has had prolific output, too. He was in the band by the way......for those of you in Rio Linda...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:13am
Bootsie:

@Joe sorry you're not one of 'em; you had my support. But I've switched loyalties (I'm pretty fickle) so Jonesey has my backing now.
Avatar 8:14am
Joe B:

get well soon robert!

thanks bootsie. i'll be assisting the show from behind the scenes
  8:20am

no it is not my place....either
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:22am

When do they reveal the final choice? And will there be a cage match involved?
Avatar Wake Supporter Hellraiser 2024 Swag For Life Member 8:24am
Fine-aight:

Never really thought my alma mater Union Catholic would get a shout out (if that's what that was) on WFMU
  8:29am
Listener Robert:

Thanks, Noel & Joe B. Not having an EKG at my disposal, I'm hoping maybe it's just PVCs (extra systoles) from hypokalemia from the furosemide that I gave such a workout to with the sodium, so I took some extra K+ & Mg++, maybe that'll fix it. Now heading out for X-rays for an unrelated problem.
  8:32am
noel:

Robert stay away from fermented foods and cured meats they are loaded with tyramine as are beans and chocolate.

"kind folks"! during the marathon we're kind folks! outstanding!!
  9:01am
Jonesey:

Thanks Folks!
  12:34pm
Listener Robert:

Pay no att'n to what noel wrote about tyramine. Although I did eat chocolate & some peanuts (beans) over the previous day, the amount of tyramine in them is not pharmacologically significant to a case like mine. It was definitely the Na+. Still in A fib as of this writing, maybe I'll come out of it within days.

Tyramine would be significant to someone on MAO inhibitors or some other cases where metabolism's messed up, or in some cases where great sensitivity exists to phenethylamines. Such is not the case here. Besides, AMERICAN cheese, as I'd eaten, has very little tyramine.
