I'm hoping we get at the 1st mic break an explanation of the title of tonight's installment. It's the NEXT 2 weeks you're supposed to be on your knees.

Basic management philosophy is to get the ball—any ball—rolling as early as possible. So here is a link. Throw your money in there. pledge.wfmu.org...

Interwebz says Roy's was out in '66. Zep does have a certain reputation...

You could do an hour of Big John answers and parodies.

@Uncle Michael: Shhh, you're revealing future marathon premium possibilities!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:29pm
Uncle Michael:

Someone put together a premium of songs about chewing tobacco and hocking loogies.

They say a lot of Rawkabilly trax - it was older proficient Jazzbos w/ like 13-year old delinquents singing on top to jump the wagon once it took off - but Ray Taylor sounds like a Creator from the Hills for sure!
You hear 'Charlie McCoy' referenced in songs - this is our man here? Or just a common hipster name that scans well?...
  8:43pm
johnk77:

he played guitar on desolation row

I humbly resubmit my suggestion that an anthology of Country covers of Monkees songs might make a worthy premium for some future Marathon...

Radical! Thx you guys. It's shameful I don't know all the Dylan personnel in detail on those albums...I think they name a Charlie on 'Down the Road Apiece' - so I think my answer is likely 'both'...

Joe stalvey:

Becky, Big Nick was about Nikita Khrushchev, the Soviet premier who banged his shoe on the podium while speaking at the UN. The lyrics reference that episode; pretty funny. And someone named Danny Caywood is proprietor of a high-end gun shop in Arkansas. No reference to a singing career on the website but maybe he is just modest that way. Great show.

'See the Big Man Cry' written by Ed Bruce I think interwebz says...
