  10:07am Listener Robert:

Yes, Doug. The only problem is that RIGHT NOW there's SO MANY choices of stuff being streamed that I hardly ever think of listening to archived material (let alone hard media such as CDs or even 78s).

Just last month while killing time on Spring St. in Newton NJ, I stumbled on a studio where DJs were streaming NewtRadio, a service that was just days old. From the storefront & the shelves of CDs, I'd thought it was a record store! NewtRadio's pretty good too, 24/7 with a majority of it live DJed; it's primarily to promote the Newton Theater, a venerable art house. It's sort of the reverse of what you did with Monty Hall, in that they were a performance space and opened a Webcast project across the street & down the block from them.

Synchronicity, or causal intervention c/o The Action 13.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:17am Brian in UK:

Causal Intervention, dull Prog band from 1970 on Vertigo. The Juggler's Promise was their only album.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19am Stanley:

Brian - I heard them on Tony's show. I thought they weren't that bad.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:20am Doug Schulkind:

This song is possibly the greatest ever thing out of all the things.
  11:21am Dean:

I swear to Allah, I wasn't sure that there wasn't such a band, nor that Tony didn't play them. Had to check. Also, "gullible" remains an entry in the dictionary.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Andy in Etobicoke:

2nd that, Doug

In the history of historical things.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Doug Schulkind:

@Brian in UK
Of course it's correct. Took it straight from the Periodic Table of Elemnts. (Thank you.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:24am Gary:

My favorite pop song of all time, maybe!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:27am Uncle Michael:

Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:29am Stanley:

Lovely Fela-esque sound to this.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:30am Brian in UK:

African Woman, original.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:31am Mark the Sardine:

@Uncle Michael, we'll be there
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:32am Stanley:

That last track was a real treat.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:33am Lane Gray:

Do cymbals actually deform like that?

Wha .. ? Huh? Sorry, I was staring at Uncle Michael's gif and kind of tranced out,
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:39am Doug Schulkind:

Speaking of Hank, this set and the show will close with the greatest Hank Williams cover of all time. Can you guess who/what it is?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Doug Schulkind:

@Jesse K
The only thing that is shameful about GTDR-related promotion is that we forget to do it.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Lane Gray:

Ray Charles Hey Good Lookin'
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Parq:

Joey Bishop's "Your Cheating Heart"?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:40am Alex In Illinois:

The NRA can use this song to increase gun sales.
  11:40am Dean:

Residents? Buckwheat Zydeco's "Hey, Good Lookin'" featuring Dwight Yoakam?
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:41am Brian in UK:

Auld Lang Syne?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:41am Doug Schulkind:

OK, no more songs about gunplay.
  11:42am Dean:

If Residents, "Kawliga."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Doug Schulkind:

Joey Bishop! You funny, Parq!
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:42am JtotheK:

not even The Orlons 'crossfire' ?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:42am Lane Gray:

Although I also dig the Seldom Scene's harmonies on House of Gold (there are rumors I'm biased)

  11:44am jessie:

@Doug I'm guessing the closing cover artist is Al Green.
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:44am Brian in UK:

Doug, I would like to say that this is a great show.

Lane where were you earlier, Doug's second set has some wonderful steel intros, no idea of the players though.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Doug Schulkind:

Lane Gray, I need to play me some Seldom Scene again. They were ubiquitous in the DC area when I was growing up.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:45am Lane Gray:

Or Lloyd Green/Charlie Pride Kawliga (look, I know the jacket says "in person" from Panther Hall 1967 says Charlie, but that's one of the finest steel guitar records EVER. Lloyd was on FIRE)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:46am Doug Schulkind:

In fact, the Seldom Scene were from my hometown of Bethesda, Maryland.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Doug Schulkind:

The next selection is a puzzlement. Is it about a girlfriend or is it about a steak sauce?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:47am Uncle Michael:

(pssst, Doug...)
Avatar 🥁 Swag For Life Member 11:47am JtotheK:

hmmm. why have i never listened to this side of the 'Get It' 45? this is great!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Lane Gray:

Doug, my dad's name is Tom. I might know about them (Mike was my steel teacher, too)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Uncle Michael:

(Lane knows about the Seldom Scene...a little...)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:48am Lane Gray:

I just woke up, Brian. It's my turn to drive now
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Doug Schulkind:

Oh WOW, Lane Gray! So are you from Bethesda?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:49am Lane Gray:

Still does. YouTube "Wait a Minute Tommy Hunter" for some Seldom Scene. He's currently in three bands. Not bad for 75

  11:58am Listener Gregory:

Wouldn't it have been great if Hank Williams had covered Al Green?... No, I take it back.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Uncle Michael:

Science is fake.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Parq:

He's got you there, UM. Science is real, and all that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:58am Doug Schulkind:

Link Wray's version of this same number is the second greatest ever Hank Williams cover. Sorry, Charlie Rich.

@Jessie
I was about to say that, darling!

see you ll in a moment. thanks doug!

Imagining what Al might be wearing if he delivered the number live around the time of its release is half of the fun.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:59am Jeff Golick:

(Ok, yeah, Willie Mitchell did produce that Known Facts. It all comes together.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:00pm Lane Gray:

I love Ray's Hey Good Lookin. My first band covered it. With horns.
