Love Dance was written by Joe Bonner, a pianist who was on a number of Pharaoh Sanders LPs and Woody Shaws Love Dance LP which had the original version of it. He died in 2014. He was a very melodic and beautiful composer and player, very McCoy Tynerish and Bacharachish. Should a had a hit. RIP

The Economics are important to understand. This is non-commercial, listener supported. The other stuff is from an increasingly top-down Industry. We choose this specifically because it is 'narrowcasting' - & not fed to us w/out consent...
Always recommend book 'This is Your Brain On Music' - which posits evidence that the appeal of Music to the Brain depends on a combo & balance of predictability & novelty (which is kinda self-evident & makes sense in hindsight). The next question is why say FMUvians' needles tick so much farther in the direction of Novelty. Our brains likely process (&/or have processed) more Music than average - & / or - faster - & it becomes Predictable to us more readily...

@Michael98145: Zappa spoke well about different types of relating to Music in Society. To most it's wallpaper - the predictability is the very thing they like, I think. It remains peripheral & doesn't disturb thot. To us - it's more like the Center of the room, & our focus rejects sameness.
