	3:12am pacific standard simon: One of my old girlfriends died this weekend. She was 62. Haven't talked with her in, I guess, 35 years.

	3:38am pacific standard simon: "It's No Secret" is one of my favorite songs of all time. Huge emotional punch.

	3:40am pacific standard simon: "Plastic Fantastic Lover" seems like more of a Paul Kantner song.

	3:46am Mark R: I agree--usually he was more of a sweet singer, but he liked to cut loose and rock out once in a while.

	4:03am joeray: Let It be was recently available on YouTube and it was a lot more enjoyable than I remembered it when it was originally released.It had to be at the time of the Beatles breakup that made it seem so depressing.

	4:21am Mark R: Moon and Entwhistle played on "Beck's Bolero" and apparently considered forming a group with him. There were also rumors at the time that ELP formed that Jimi might be joining them, too.

	4:33am pacific standard simon: Somewheres pretty close to 42 years ago, I bought my first Art Ensemble of Chicago album for a buck or so at a dime store cut out bin.
	4:40am pacific standard simon: Poulenc is pretty much my favorite 20th century composer. Especially his piano and woodwind sonatas.
	4:42am Scraps: I got up temporarily to say, Poulenc! Love Poulenc, Honegerr, Milhuad, the three major composers in Les Six. This is so lovely. Thank you!

	5:32am Mark R: Back when they were an interesting "prog rock" band
	5:35am ausmanx: in my dotage i now think that the best thing to come out of early Genesis was the Anthony Phillips solo albums, but NO ONE ever plays them (although i note there's been some kind of 300-disc retrospective of him released by Cherry Red). but i also sold a lot of genesis bootlegs around the world in the 70s so it made me into the ruthless vicious capitalist i am today
	5:44am joeray: I saw Genesis during their "Lamb Lies down On Broadway" tour at the Palace Theatre in Providence. One of the most memorable concerts ever! The Palace theatre's roof was leaking due to a rainstorm that evening, so the electricity had to be temporarily shut off. Phil Collins came out onstage telling jokes and doing card tricks!
