LOVE Ds M Rs! Haven't heard this one - was that radio tuning intro w/ the Sex Pistols part of the track??!
Avatar 10:18pm

If the events of 2016 can inspire songs as powerful and angry, and yet levelheaded and hopeful as Mac's, then the despair felt by so many of us may yet be something we can overcome.

Well said, Gaylord!!

Not nearly as well said as Mac, but thanks, Therese.

WOOOOO!!! GREAT version of this early Smiths song! Always liked the harder/'82 early alternative feel of the song, but she keeps the spirit of the original while making it her own! Kudos Sandie!

The delightful Elaine Stritch documentary - "Shoot Me" - returned to the Netflix streaming library a few weeks ago. I believe it's also on Hulu. It's a must watch!

Does anyone know who Brenda Frazier was anymore?
  11:00pm
Hoboken Jack:

Our friend Lee saves Stritch:
By the late ’60s, Stritch was becoming a has-been. Everybody loved her onstage, but offstage she was difficult. She spoke her mind. She fought with directors and fellow cast members. She drank. In 1968, her friend, writer Lee Israel, took her to dinner at Sardi’s and interviewed her for the New York Times. Stritch was, as always, candid. A few days after the interview was published, director Hal Prince called and offered her a part in his new show, “Company.”

I once read something about a touring production of "Mame" that would have starred Judy Garland and Elaine Stritch. The two had reached an agreement that whoever was less drunk at each performance would portray Auntie Mame, while the other would get some sleep as Vera Charles.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:19pm
Matt from Springfield:

Sounds like that could've been from 1979 (and a half)
