Banjo Master Tony Trischka joined in as a last minute solo guest. Later in the week Trischka presents "Of a Winter’s Night," two shows with with musician friends. They'll revel in songs long forgotten and little known from the 1844 Sacred Harp book, the Revolutionary era and old-time fiddle music, as well as Woody Guthrie, Leadbelly, classically influenced carols and hard-driving bluegrass.

I remember seeing Christian Marclay dj a turntabilist xmas set at the New Museum in 2002, and he had his records in bins for the public to peruse. While there, he messed around and, then let play (w/ another unremembered record) something from one of John Fahey's Xmas records. T'was nice...

Yes p 90 a good sounding 250. I am lucky to own it. Gibson stopped making them for a while. I do not know if they started again Tony T. plays Deering. The banjo is important but the practice is more important. I love my 12 string too not really a bluegrass instrument but then a banjo doesn't have to be either.

A happy Christmas tale: Just got off the phone with Ma. In September, a windstorm blew down several old buildings back on the farm. Today, a bearded gent in a pickup pulled in and dropped off five lovely Christmas decorations hewn from the scrap lumber. Mom raved about how beautiful they look and what a surprise it was. One of my sisters knew of his work and supplied him with the material.

Yes, Irene. Pretty neat. I wish I had pictures to share. I guess they have rustic country scenes with berries and such for ornamentation. They're each 12 x 18" or so and have hangers fashioned from barbed wire. Rusty wire, I'm sure, for the full cowboy effect.
