	10:59pm melinda: I don't drink much at all anymore but I always liked hot buttered rum around holiday time. Scotch and irish whiskey for the rest of winter. In the old days, that is.

	11:06pm melinda: I liked Highland Park scotch. Also one called Isle of Jura. Which we liked to call jar of urine, for yuks.

	11:10pm Scraps: @melinda: you are talking my language. Highland Park was my favorite Scotch, the one that a little higher up in price, but not the even more expensive one: that was too much for much. Now it's all too much... still, maybe i will get a christmas bottle of Highland Park....

	11:13pm Little Danny: @J2tK: it's the only Ashby I own, but I would love some of her early stuff. Everything I've heard has been terrific. Harp shouldn't work in jazz but Dorothy makes it work beautifully, inventing her own sound along the way...

	11:16pm Scraps: I like The Rubaiyat of Dorothy Ashby, but it's different, more mellow/fusion sort of thing

	11:20pm Pete from Melbourne Austraila: Put me down as a Dorthy Ashby fan as well, her records are all great, from the ones I've heard, anyway, and Harp certainly works in Jazz, its all in the mind and fingers of the artist. Its like Art Van Darm playing Jazz on accordian, and his records are great. Hey this Karl Heinz Schäfer track is awesome

	11:26pm geezerette: Dean, I was a student and we liked it because the cocktails were from the forties and Ceaser Salads were made tableside from a cart,with great ceremony and raw eggs. Another Hollywood time machine.

	11:49pm coelacanth: 1/2 the wall was his sound system. he didn't blast it; it just sounded phenomenal. once he wasn't there but his wife (girlfriend?) was and she didn't know how to make drinks. we were getting 3-4 drinks-worth of liquor per drink and i felt bad for the guy.
