Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:13am
Nate K.:

The official board clock here hasn't been set back yet, so I expect at least one moment of brief yet total confusion on my part this AM.

Mornin' Nate and folks.
Just played Gene Parsons' version of My Kingdom for a Car.
Always thought that the mixing on Gilded Palace could be so much better.

@BiUK: the Pelecanos you suggested arrived yesterday, 60 pages in. I now recall his involvement in THE WIRE, surely extraordinary TV with few peers.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:51am
Brian in UK:

Sem never seen the Wire. Imagine the dialogue is taut.
Mr P does draw you in.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:53am
Sem Chumbo:

Binge watched the five seasons over six months.I cannot reccomend it highly enough.
Its out there in the wild, wild web.

Feeling top hole yet?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:55am
Brian in UK:

Sem just started Le Carre's Small Town in Germany. He is a writer that demands a degree of intelligence from the reader. I might have my work cut out. Set in Germany in the Sixties but is relevant to todays shenanigans with UK and that terrible term Brexit.
Thanks. I am going to the doctor, back aching enough to be a worry still. Battery on motorcycle is flat due to lack of use. On and on it goes.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am
Nate K.:

@Sem, which George P. are you reading?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:05am
Nate K.:

Thanks for the input re: the streams everybody.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:07am

The Double, Brian.
Love Le Carre from the first one I read, way back.

Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:14am

Hey, KP.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:15am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

...or - return to Standard Time...they should leave the damn clock alone yer arsk me...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:17am
Nate K.:

I say the more light and the longer the day the better, so I genuinely do not like pushing the clocks back... and I've never understood why we still do it.
  7:25am
KP:

It's so you can see where the newspaper ended up when delivery guy threw it at your door
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:25am
Revolution Rabbit Nov63:

- oh - I think they should leave it @ 'Standard' - since that's the 'real' time - & no clock changing, deal w/ it
- but you make a point - 'falling back' is earlier Winter sunsets...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:28am
Stanley:

Thank Gord, you've put the clocks back. T'was playing havoc with my finely balanced routine, over here.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:29am
Nate K.:

Yeah, I'd prefer it to not get dark in NYC at 3:30. But either way, no messing with the clocks.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:36am
Stanley:

Hi Sem. Concur with your thoughts on The Wire. In my mind, indisputably the best thing ever made for teevee. Just started Treme, also written by David Simon. Looks very promising.
  7:37am
KP:

It's always been said it's so kids don't have to go school in the dark. But once they grow up I'd say leave it alone.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:43am
Stanley:

A lot of carbon could be saved by leaving the clocks alone. More electricity is used at the end of the day as opposed before the working day starts. Too simple for politicians to understand.
  7:44am
KP:

Do you get overtime for this one, Nate
  7:46am
Will:

Me, I wanna sleep until Wednesday morning....
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52am
Sem Chumbo:

Hi-ho, Stanley @ 7:36.
Yes, Treme is another quite extraordinary creation. Big fan.

Just back from a little ramble along the low tide shore. Pumpkins washed up, post Guy Fawkes festivities, I suppose, following close on the heels of All Hallows Eve.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:53am

Brian in UK:

Just finished a spot of gardening afore the rains come.

Sem how long does low tide last or it it a quick turnaround?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:56am
Sem Chumbo:

High tide to high tide is a several minutes over 12 hours. Because we have 29 feet of tide here, and there is quite a deep channel where the river outflow lives, low tide comes on fast. Of course, there's poor footing the farther out you go, mussel beds and foot- deep mucky silt. Along the shore is basalt rock sand a lot of rockweed, the indigenous algae which thrives in this inter-tidal zone.
