This is pretty.

Jason Elbogen:

hmm, I dunno. I think I must be clicking one button out of order or something...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:22pm
Doug Schulkind:

Have you seen the instructions (with pictures!) in the WFMU Wiki? Pretty doable. No worries. Just go out there and blow sonic minds!

Good afternoon Jason and listeners

Jason Elbogen:

Hey Fred! How are you feeling?
Avatar 3:43pm
Jason Elbogen:

(This is another pretty cool New Zealand band I've come across recently)
Avatar 3:49pm
Scraps:

Ubik... I've never heard of them, but I'll bet their name comes from Philip K Dick
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:49pm
fred:

Pretty well so far. I'm going to see Byambajargal Gombodorj on Sunday, I'm pretty psyched about that. I'm checking into the hospital on Monday, and gets heart surgery on Tuesday. I'll have no internet access for weeks then, so it's the last time I'm listening to your show until December
Avatar 3:52pm
Jason Elbogen:

Well, good luck with Surgery, Fred. I think you introduced me to Byambajargal, right? Great stuff...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 3:55pm
fred:

Yeah, that's her. My favorite singer. I delayed surgery by a few days so that I wouldn't miss her
  3:56pm
mark R:

Fred I've been following your lead-up to surgery over the last few weeks, I know it's nerve-racking, but in a few days it'll all be over, and you can relax and enjoy the drugs they're giving you. Hopefully, even without internet access (where are you recovering where there's no wi-fi, the moon?!) you still have access to good music and maybe get to watch some cool movies or something or even (gasp!) read a book or two. The whole FMU family is pulling for you buddy, you'll be in our thoughts, so don't worry about a thing, you'll be as good as new after!

Ken From Hyde Park:

Speaking of moon, the full moon on Monday, November 14 is a supermoon to enjoy.
  4:00pm
mark R:

Nice Ken--will that be pre-dawn Monday or post-sunset Monday? (I do an overnight show Sunday nights is why I ask!)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:00pm
fred:

@Mark: I'll have a stack of books. I won't have internet access because I own neither a smartphone nor a laptop, so I'm the only one to blame for that.
  4:00pm
mark R:

Speaking of which, don't forget to Fall back Saturday night folks!
  4:02pm
mark R:

It will be a good spiritual exercise to be sans internet for a while anyway. Books are divine.
  4:12pm
Thibault:

Hi Jason, I just turned in. Hope you're fine
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
fred:

What a great set! 4 tracks, 4 clicky-stars
  4:12pm
mark R:

I think they're called slats.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:12pm
Jason_:

Slats?
  4:18pm
Andy the painter:

sorry. just checking in.
i hate to hear a confused dj, and i'm in the interior trades.

yeah, slats are the flat parts of BLINDS....which can be opened or closed.
SHADES are usually a continuous sheet of fabric, etc. which can be pulled up or down, all at once.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:19pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

@mark R - Full moon proper is 8:52 AM on the 14th. www.timeanddate.com...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:25pm
Ken From Hyde Park:

It appears that the almost-full moon sets 6:26 AM on the 14th, so you should see it in the western sky during your overnight show, mark R. www.timeanddate.com...

I *think* everything's ok. Probably a butt-call...

Can you give an example of a definition?
  4:48pm

The simultaneous occurrence of two independent events?
  4:49pm
Dean:

Gotcha.
Avatar 4:50pm
Scraps:

i'm listening! musingly.....
  5:03pm
Dean:

I know you oppose mere examples, but here's one. Donald Trump utters a statement. It happens to be true. That's a coincidence.

It really is hard to come up with a simple definition of the word!

Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:53pm
fred:

Chief's honoring song... Does Chief Kooffreh have even one honoring song?
Avatar 5:56pm
Jason Elbogen:

The entirety of my 200+ shows is essentially one long song honoring the Chief, Fred.
Avatar 5:57pm
Jason Elbogen:

But, seriously, Fred, the Chief does in fact give "honors" to people in many of his songs (at the beginning, usually. Pretty sure he uses the word 'honor' sometimes, too)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:59pm
fred:

Did you get a shout-out as a major radio personality?
Avatar Swag For Life Member 6:01pm

Thanks Jason
