  10:51am Listener Gregory:

If you like "classic" Blood Ulmer, there's a recent release of his trio "Freelancing Live" from a 1981 concert, which is quite good. "Are You Glad to Be in America" has particular resonance right now.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:52am Doug Schulkind:

@Listener Gregory
I talked myself out of playing "Are You Glad..."
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:53am Jeff Golick:

Thanks for that rec, @Listener Gregory.

Doug, the question is only rhetorical. I think.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:56am Goyim in the AM:

I sometimes wonder how Henry Kaiser's career would have been different if he weren't filthy rotten stinking rich. My guess is fewer effects and more touring.

Wes Montgomery is a godhead. And Kenny Burrell. Met Kenny one time. He was a warm and generous fellow.
Avatar 10:59am chromaphone:

Kenny Burrell = best guitar tone ever.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 10:59am Jeff Golick:

D:O Radio had a marathon premium called "Jazz Guitar for People Who Do Not Like Jazz Guitar."

Or something like that.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:00am Goyim in the AM:

If we are talking about the personal awesomeness of avant jazz guitarists, I can vouch for Mary Halvorson, with whom I have had the privilege of playing (session sadly unreleased).
Avatar 11:00am chromaphone:

Grant Green is a close 2nd for tone IMOP, and very listenable for non-jazzers on some albums.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Doug Schulkind:

Mary Halvorson has played in Pittsburgh maybe 8 times in the past couple of years. Did a wonderful residency here with City of Asylum.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:02am Little Danny:

I would agree, chromaphone re: Burrell's tone

Only one channel on this track. Not sure if it's the horrible patchwork set-up I'm using or a bad MP3.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Doug Schulkind:

It was a bad Mp3. (I have banished it to the corner.)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 11:13am Stanley:
