Favoriting Bryce: Playlist from October 28, 2016 Favoriting

I never miscue a record. I am punctual, well-prepared, and dislike clutter. Outgoing and helpful, I'm always appropriately dressed. I do not behave erratically and have excellent penmanship. My CD's never skip, and I am in good health. I like all the notes, in any order.

Honestly, it's nice having a break from the sexy singles. They're so high-energy and demanding.

hey, next singles going steady you should play 3 hour long cuts, and cut in with completely random messages.

So...what's the current situation for DYI records with 3D printers? Can any schmoe with a decent printer start cranking out records at will?

@sphere - Thanks. The article says a 3D LP would ruin a needle, so the next step is to 3D print needles, obviously.

I love this
Avatar 2:27pm
Bryce:

ranjit, that's exactly the way he would hang them. he would spread them throughout a gallery space, then walk through the audience playing them.
Avatar 2:28pm
Bryce:

i think he liked to position things just so, so that he could get standing waves and other trippy spatial situations happening
Avatar 2:31pm

Yeah, I'm reading about him on wikipedia etc and wish I'd known about his work earlier. I always learn good stuff from WFMU!

that casette was also directly from him. never seen it mentioned anywhere else, not even on his own site:

"Other instruments included metal bars, fifty-meter long piano wires stretched diagonally across the great hall, aboriginal bullroarers, swung by a chorus of people to make whirring sounds, and wine glasses which the chorus played for ringing sounds."

Sorry to have missed that !!

i know, right?? he did a sound performance consisting of his jumping through a bunch of walls of paper.

i really wish some enterprising label would re-master his complete output (including lots of cassettes), and make some kind of box set.

just for me :)
