A viking ship appears on the horizon, a likeness of Alice Coltrane carved into its bow. Rare birds flock together to sing Francoise Hardy as soul hits. A sunset of blips and bleeps fills the air.

When Trump said he would wait until after the votes were counted to decide whether or not he would accept the results of the election, I really think Hillary should have just gone over and picked him up by the neck and thrown him off the stage.

I've had chickens for prolly 7 years now. Typically 3 or 4. My current birds have started spending nearly all of their time on their roost instead of down on the floor of the coop or in the run. Today it is raining so I can't blame them but they have even been doing it when it's nice out. I wonder if I should be concerned.

Avatar 10:38am
braveness23:

Yeah, the thing is that we are pretty predator free. Fenced back yard in a fairly urban area. The only four legged creatures we have are my 19 year old dog who ignores the chickens and a cat that occasionally creeps into the yard. We have loads of hawks above. But none of this is any different than any other time. In fact I reinforced the coop and run this years so the chickens are more secure than they have ever been (although they probably don't have any notion of this)
Avatar 10:42am
βrian:

@braveness23: Are they watching Faux news. That'd do it. Chicken Little was right.
  10:44am
muwf:

i came home, glanced at the totally chicken wired 6foot high enclosure to see the chickens scratching. Then, i noticed a red tail sitting twenty feet up in very close old oak. Red tailed looked at me jumped off branch and grabbed through the chicken wire at the lady on the roof of the coop inside the wire. Missed the lady by inches. All the chicks went inside within minutes.

When I was still living in Brooklyn last spring, I heard a pigeon cooing on my A/C. I got up to shoo it to keep it from getting ideas about nesting there and there was a huge THUD! A red tail had fell out of the sky and landed on the pigeon and tore it apart in seconds. It was oblivious to my wife and I videoing it. It took notice, and took its pigeon carcass to the roof across the street and finished it, it was cool getting to see a red tail a good 2.5 m away, and it left a lot of blood and feathers on the A/C.

I had a jalapeno plant for 5 years straight that made the hottest, best flavored jalapenos I had, and they got better every year. When I moved this summer, the movers couldn't take it, and my wife forgot to water it, so it went kaput. I miss it!
