Sorry to snipe, but a 'troika' is a set of three persons, e.g. running a country or splitting a bottle of vodka. The dolls to which Mr Mazur has referred are 'matrioshka' ('little mother') dolls.

Three days ago my wife asked me how to pronounce an Hawaiian fish dish, 'pōk' or 'pōké' ; yesterday I heard an host on KUOW and an Hawaiian foid expert talking about it and pronouncing it, presumably correctly ('pōké'). This seemed coïncidental, until I realised that we both are people interested in food and who like radio, and so gravitate toward radio shows about food, that poké is somewhat in the air (only figuratively…if you're lucky), and so the I heard an answer, basically, because of the same factors that formed the question…and there may have been hundreds of mentions on the air of thisfood that I _didn't_ hear.

I think Dr Bietman is off-track here: science is nothing but human experience, rigorously analysed, and every analysis of research on telepathy I've seen looks more like chance the closer one loojs at it.

'Everything is random' is what no statistician says, and doesn't imply 'everything is meaningless' in any event… and deciding in advance that you will see telepathy nearly guaranties that you will see it, especially if you only ever examine proposed observations of it just hard enough to be convinced.

My punk pal Jack Rabid told me a coincidence, involving his friend Thurston Moore. Both lived on Eldridge St, about 5 blocks apart, back in the 80s. 1 day, jack got a letter that was addressed to thurston. Ha.
