Friend of mine and a music partner did a Patsy tribute show a few weeks ago at the Poland Springs chapel -- yes, that Poland Springs -- and though they were an unknown duo in that concert series, they packed the joint. Folks love 'em some Patsy.

Well, the Philippines geopolitcally need the US if they want any influence on China's incursions on their outposts in the Scarborough Shoal and other islets in the South China Sea. Most of my Filipino friends aren't too keen on Duterte (but that was on the runup to the election).

i think the US spends most of its time watching itself, doug! it just doesn't have very good judgement! and Duterte is now negotiating with China on much better terms than the U.S. (not to mention the rebel groups in his own country). he's actually pretty good at it, though you wouldn't know that to read the Western media. in many ways, it would suit the Philippines to be much closer to China
