With the old lady, at first I thought she was asking for directions, and she asked if I was waiting on someone, I said yeah, getting more leery. "A lady friend?" she asked, and like an idiot I said no. Then she invited me back to her place. My mind was racing for a way to say no politely, and figured that if I said my girlfriend wouldn't approve, she could say it would be our secret or something, and I wanted a solid OUT! So I said "I don't think my boyfriend would approve." and she nodded in understanding and moved on. Whew! The other reply I came up with was too mean: "Where were you 60 years ago when I needed you?"
