Hi Chris. How is Lagunitas? OK everyone. I'm 10 miles north of San Francisco. I use it as a reference point but Chris and I are representing WFMU in the north bay.

I feel as annoyed that 1) BOC have mended their fences as I do that 2) GBV is playing shows again. 1) they're not the same without Alan Lanier, 2) stay broken up! I went to your damn farewell tour.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:18pm

@Cecile: get over it. A friend didn't graduate high school because the exam came on the day of the last ever Rolling Stones tour. Ever. For Real. That was in 1990.

I'm over it. That's my explanation of why I disapprove of and am not sponsoring these endeavors. Then I can move on with a simplified BOC and GBV free life. The old records are still great.

I will say I saw BOC in a hot parking lot in 2004 or so and they were excellent (I do think Allen Lanier was with them). Then I had a funnel cake and saw Clarence Carter in the shade. It was like a day of shows made for me.

Oh, shit. Pearlman died, and in Marin County, no less.

I met him after this album. He signed my copy and dedicated a Clash tune on the radio to me: "To Dean, the world's greatest Clash fan."

Damn.
Avatar 12:25pm
Cecile:

I saw them twice right around then, drr. Alan Lanier was with them and he added so much. He doesn't get as much credit as Buck but his guitar playing made a lot of songs.

If any one is actually interested in what the true dichotomy of Kiss's structure is I suggest you check out Paul's book. You come to learn that GS is pretty much a public face for Kiss and the real boss is pretty much PS

@Cecile - that's what is so strange. Like how can you take yourself so seriously in makeup and platform boots?

I am a sucker for the chorus riff on this KJ song, even though they run it into the ground.
Avatar 2:00pm
MenfussMike:

@coe, but yes I do agree...Gene maybe the face of KISS, but Paul kept it all together. Read Peter's book if you haven't. That guy was a maniac. I loved his story about Ace and the telescopes and doing coke all night with Belushi then them going to Grand Central Station during the morning rush
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:01pm

As a kid I had some trouble telling KISS and Killing Joke apart. I was young. But I kinda see how I could get confused
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:03pm

Running a riff into the ground is what KJ is known for....not that that's a bad thing.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 2:06pm

Peter's is the only one I have not yet. I will have to get right on that. I'm on a big music bio kick (although I'm sure if I'm ever not) I'll have to loop that one in
