2) @geezerette My beach eats was stopping at Wetson's on the way home for a 65-cent Big W burger. Wetson's is relaunching later this year claims Wikipedia ! ! ! 3) @BK Fix Dee Dee Sharp's entry! "Riding the" what? Vaqueros - "Whiplash" is cited on this incomplete website http://www.panasaa.com/panasaa/wwwroot/vaqueros/songs.asp The first two mp3's found there, "Desert Wind"/"Echo," were on Al Cecere-owned Audition Recording label of Rochester, NY. Not finding anything for the other, "Lost Love"/"Whiplash." http://www.garagehangover.com/label/nu-sound-ltd/ BUT YOU CAN log into YT and ask W Thinklestein, whose band member info checks out: "Larry Weld, David Heath, Tom and Steve Corona. I am related to the drummer who still has excellent chops . . . These guys were the real deal. There are more songs I need to post such as Lonely drag strip that capture this style very well. Echo was not a legal version that the Ventures put out. Vaqueros did it best and first. There were several songs they had stolen and never received credit for." Seems there are other Vaqueros. "80-Foot Wave"? Sounds great, recorded 1964 says someone online. "Vagabond Fever"? | |
