The Around the World in a Day album was released April 22, 1985 (31 years ago today). The 12" single of "America" from that album runs 21:46 for the reason is that's how much tape was in the recording device. Dash it all if I could remember what else he talked about. Will state an opinion that "When You Were Mine" is a very fine song from Prince.

Trying to track down that Niki & The Dove album....it's only out in digital format it seems? I can't buy it as a CD or a rekkid?

Selling Laura Nyro records? What kind of madness is this?

You see, their voices are nothing like each other, are they?

Yeah, this is back when they were known as Stevie & The Revolution

@Cliff The other Niki/Dove albums have come out on vinyl so presumably this new one will after its initial digi push

Thanks for the info Adrian. I just get sketched out buying MP3 albums, if I don't have a physical object to hold it doesn't feel "real" to me, heh

BTW, I was the inarticulate caller from Kansas City in the last two minutes of last night's Dusty Show. Wish I could've been more eloquent, but to be honest, I was mostly just surprised it rang through, and that he picked up.

you called, JP. *that's* what counts. good on ya!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:24pm

This instrumental got used in a Mad Men, IIRC. Peggy was venting to Stan.

I called into SUW once and just rambled about the pronunciation of the word "grocery" until Frangry hung up on me. I also called into Do It For Me and annoyed Pseu Braun (I really wanted to call into 7SD but didn't make it in time). So don't worry about JPKC, you're definitely not the worst caller ever ;)
Avatar Swag For Life Member 5:33pm
JP from KC:

Well, that's a relief. I was disappointed in myself, though. I talk for a living. Then again, I'm usually on the other side of those calls, which is a much easier position to be in.

Sheila baby this show has been KILLER. I love going to shows alone. It gets easier. It's a very chic thing though. Solo and fabulous. I'm shocked about Porches. I thought they were new new. See you next weekend I hope??

Technically I was calling from Kansas, so with Clay being from Iowa, we had the whole damn tri-state area represented!

Go to Fond Object in Nashville. Coco from The Ettes is one of the owners. There's a great sandwich place across the street, too. Grimey's is worth a visit. If you have time drop by Ernest Tubb Record Shop and/or Third Man Records just because.
