I probably shouldn't do this. But under no circumstance does Cosmic Matrix have a legitimate gripe. Scam??? We played 34 songs and acknowledged another 17 in the medley, which left dozens and dozens of requests unfulfilled. Some because we didn't have any idea of what the song was, some because we ran out of time, some because the request form got misplaced in the chaos. We appreciate everybody who pledged and made a request, and hope you'll rethink the word "scam," at the very least.
Still trying to figure out how Todd-o-Phonic Todd managed to foil my plan to host his show today!

I recall Gaylord Fields' having said on the program, probably in response to my query on the comments about stumping YLT, that you would have the best CHANCE of your request's being played if it wasn't obscure. That seems to warn right there that requests weren't guaranteed to be played, and therefore that the offer was in good faith.

However, the folks at WFMU seem so collegial, even with all the joking as in Andy's benediction, that I think they'll find some way to make it up to cosmic matrix, because I at least feel bad for hir.

@all, wuz gone, just came back--didn't realize the whole "stump" aspect to it all--i called during the last 45 minutes of requests--the person on the phone was a newbie, she told me they'd play any song--i figured i'd take it fairly easy on them and picked the first ryan power song that popped up on youtube--thought that maybe an intern would try to learn it super quick or something--oh well. i don't hold it against fmu, just a misunderstanding!
