	2:57pm annie: i think the biggest mistake i made with prospective partners is that i neglected to notice that they did not share my passion for music... and i'm still single

	2:59pm coelacanth: when i've gone on dates with people who weren't passionate about music, at best, by the 4th date, there were awkward lulls in conversations.

	3:01pm Meghan: I've been to concerts with people who just stand still the whole time. not a single movement. Granted, that was the first and last time I went to a concert with them....

	3:05pm ndbob: I've had mixed experiences re relationships and music - some a lot of common interests, some very little
	3:05pm Mike East: I can't say my wife shares my passion for music, but there are a few artists that we bond over - Otis Redding, Hoodoo Gurus, Psychedelic Furs. But, for the most part, I think her taste is...well...let's talk about something else.

	3:14pm annie: i did fall in love with the father of a couple kids i babysat for. one day before the parents had gone out the father was going in to exquisite detail over a solo violin part in sheherzade, my favorite piece of music. his passion for the interlude sealed my love for him. ...and i'm good frinds with him to this very day. although he does not remember that day, i guess because he lived that passion all the time.. ... THAT'S the kind of guy i like...
	3:14pm geezerette: Meghan, this is such a great show!!! I met a guy recently who actually said he wasn't interested in music. How sad is that?!!
	3:14pm ndbob: I remember meeting someone for the first time that I was involved with for a while - she came to visit me from Wyoming - I took her to her first record show - I was in Baltimore then - I remember sitting on the floor at the airport trying to balance the weight of all her records between suitcases
	3:16pm annie: see, i like a man by the size of his record collection..
	3:17pm coelacanth: i've never had a "relationship" with a woman like my mother for very long. the only thing is she wasn't over-the-top nurturing; and i don't like being nurtured much.

	3:19pm annie: actually, i DID have a very wonderful relationship with someone who loved music the way i did... there was more passion in our love for the music and books. .. not so much else, but the first bit made me higher than a kite. he passed away a year ago.. and each time i hear something we'd like, i look up and wink towards the sky

	3:23pm coelacanth: my most heartbreaking romance was with someone equally passionate as i about music, but she generally liked much more "commercial" music than i. i learned a lot from her though, after having exiled myself from commercial radio for several years.

	3:32pm annie: i used to hate van morrison, then the downstairs tenant moved in and loved to blare that music. i acquired a taste for it; and listen with nostalgia for those days

	3:33pm Meghan: I lost a bet and had to watch the RUSH documentary..... with an open mind. That's how it goes down in my place. He lost the bet prior and was supposed to wear a size Medium New Order shirt....

	3:44pm Dave B: Reading back thru the comments - I had a chance in the late 80s/early 90s to see Wilson Pickett at this supper club kinda spot on 10th avenue NYC.
	3:45pm coelacanth: i too like lots of "mainstream" music; but i do look down my nose a bit at people who ONLY like disneypop, or gangsta rap... so i guess by definition i'm a snob!

	3:53pm Parq: Fans being more hard to take than the artist itself has plenty of validity. I like the Bobs, but the one concert of their I attended, I found their fans to be the most insufferable bunch of smug preppies I've ever been forced to sit with.

I was listening to Deep Elem Blues at the age of 16 and I remember my dad's friend being like, "Yeah, that's alright, but you know they didn't write that song, right?" Mind blown. He gave me a huge box of old roots and blues tapes. I started peeling back the layers and never stopped...

	3:14pm annie: i did fall in love with the father of a couple kids i babysat for. one day before the parents had gone out the father was going in to exquisite detail over a solo violin part in sheherzade, my favorite piece of music. his passion for the interlude sealed my love for him. ...and i'm good frinds with him to this very day. although he does not remember that day, i guess because he lived that passion all the time.. ... THAT'S the kind of guy i like...

	3:14pm ndbob: I remember meeting someone for the first time that I was involved with for a while - she came to visit me from Wyoming - I took her to her first record show - I was in Baltimore then - I remember sitting on the floor at the airport trying to balance the weight of all her records between suitcases
