Music journalist Richard Gehr - who writes for Rolling Stone, the Village Voice and many others, and is author of I Only Read It for the Cartoons: The New Yorker's Most Brilliantly Twisted Artists - recently attended the Saptak Festival, one of India's foremost Hindustani Classical Music festivals. I agree, that Indian classical show on WKCR on Sundays at 7 p.m. is quite good (though I haven't tuned in to it much lately).

For a couple bars there, it sounded like Indian calypso. So sort of East & West Indian at the same time.
