Playing those Superhits of the Seventies: Hit Machine tracks when we can't get our hands on them for 3 or 4 months equates to cruel and unusual musical punishment, Michael.

Whew! I made it through the list. My impression is that they found a list of 2000 people that ever wrote a song and randomly selected 100 from that. Going for the Pepto-Bismol now. And by the way, Johnny Cash had Shy-Drager Syndrome (not Shy-Dragger).

@Cliff: Me too!
  12:18pm
Bill:

Cliff, did you skip a song on this list? I think it was right before Jim Ford's Harlan County, and sounded like an early 60s girl group meets late 60s fuzz guitar. It wasn't Johnny Flame. Could I have imagined the whole thing? I was driving, so I'm pretty sure I wasn't sleeping at the time. I rarely do that.

Kim and Grim! Thank you!
  12:26pm
Cliff:

I remember B.B. King walking on stage with a fold-out chair and saying something like, "I'm 70 years old, hope you folks don't mind if I just sit here in this chair for the entire show", and everybody cheered
  12:30pm

great version!

I think Bobby blue bland was bb king's driver for a while. I saw him at Lincoln center out of doors in a big bill with john Lee hooker. I remember the ladies went nuts for bland and he made weird throat crackle noises.

Yes, Bland did all kinds of crazy throat noises at the show I saw too. Kinda sounded like he was coughing up a lung at times. I turned to the guy who gave me a ride and asked if he had the flu or something, and he said, "no man, that's the BLUES"
