The Fuzz! I saw them -- this is true -- in a weekend-long "rock festival" (trust me, the promoters used the quotes when they said it) in the parking lot of the Fashion Center mall in Paramus NJ in, oh I guess, 1972.

Brian, on Sanford and Son once (based, as I assume you know, on Willie Brambel's "Steptoe and Son"), a black cop once told a little boy "Be cool, little brother, the Fuzz is your Cuz". That was also in the neighborhood of 1972, and I've used the line ever since.
