Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:00pm
coelacanth:

(nor is early Eno.)
  1:01pm
Dean:

Hunting Lodge? Alas, n/a in the store's inventory, but discogs associates them with early SPK, a good thing. Must seek out. Oh, yes, I have a turntable, the same one since 1983. It needs a timing belt, etc., but that's take serious coin.

I used to have Crimson LPs, but wearied of them. I love Red and Starless, but Wetton puts me off. However, a buddy of mine supplied two or three decent old bootlegs that do the trick.
  1:02pm
Dean:

Sorry, lotsa "buts" and screwy grammar.
Avatar 1:02pm
V Priceless:

@ Dean: if they have any Eno records, any of the first four are just fab....I recall you saying your Eno was low.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:03pm
coelacanth:

i didn't like Wetton's voice at first, but got used to it; and his lyrics are usually good.
still my favorite CK era.
Avatar 1:04pm
Cecile:

same here.
  1:04pm
Dean:

Yeah, VP, thank you. I'm not an Eno fan, either! I adore "My Life in the Bush of Ghosts," but otherwise don't listen to Eno or Byrne. I know, contrarian.
Avatar 1:04pm
Cecile:

Christ! Eric you are hilarious. Deep voice, high vocals. awesome.

fishy: send me a faceborg friend request, bro!
  1:19pm
Dean:

Does Eric still smoke? Does it help or hurt his vocals? Helluva baritone there.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 1:20pm
coelacanth:

Cecile i was i Love with Eno from the first moment (maybe because it was "here come the warm jets" and i was tripping!) - but Byrne- though i respect him, his singing annoys me too much!
...the first 4 talking heads records were good though.
  1:21pm
Dean:

I like "Here He Comes" on Before & After Science.

Cecile:

I wish I was a smoker. You can quit smoking. You can't quit eating. :(
  1:29pm
Dean:

Reminds me of Lemmy's funeral, where his buddies commented he was a big Beatles and ABBA fan. Was at a beer bar a couple nights ago where a 23YO guy played some real nice blues guitar, then asked the audience to request ANY Beatles tune. The request was for a tune contemporary w/ "Nowhere Man," but I wanted to ask for "Flying."
  1:29pm
Polyus:

Great choice by Eric. AM car radio memories.
  1:30pm
Tom L.:

And who the fuck cares about pundits and casual fans??. WAIT! I AM A PUNDIT! And I'm deaf to casual Sabbath fans so it doesn't matter.

Avatar 1:31pm

Both me and my friend have had Starman going through our heads this whole 2 weeks. I took her out for dinner. I knew the manager and his iPod, and I asked him for Bowie. He played 2 hours worth!
Avatar 1:32pm
Cecile:

Dean, I love Lemmy because he worshipped Buddy Holly. Who could deny that?
  1:35pm
Dean:

Lemmy is one of a few these days who can worship Buddy Holly and not seem just gratuitously retro. Come to think of it, I once worked at a record store managed by a guy named Lenny who worshipped Buddy Holly, too.
Avatar 1:36pm
