@Scott: It was quite emotional on Therese's show, where it started as a Happy Birthday/new album Bowie theme, and suddenly shifted into a memorial tribute mood. What a world of difference in that context.

WHA? Is this a SW project? :)

Eno + Iggy, still around.
Bowie + Lou (+Nomi, long ago), passed on. It's just a consequence of time.

My go-to Bowie parody/tributes are Liam Lynch "Fake David Bowie Song" and of course, Flight of the Conchords "Bowie's In Space".

Someone named "Disco Dare" first broke the news, which I and others thought was a joke on all the Bowie being played. Just like when Dave Davies is played on FMU, people wonder if he's died and that's a tribute.
But then Therese announces it, and I thought she was punk'd. Wiki had updated the date of death, but no circumstances were listed and the article was unprotected. I thought it was some vandal trying to cause trouble, but then a Google search saw Hollywood Reporter, BBC and other outlets with the same sad news. I was shocked.

I was also looking up, speaking of 70s Finnish music: have you heard of Blues Section? There was a great, somewhat baroque song "Cherry Cup-cake Twist" that I Starred last year on FMU.

@RRN63: Short story songs, albums, trilogies of albums. Never very "forward" like a rock opera, but his sense of "storytelling" is subtle and powerful, you're right.
