	1:03am InBrkly: hmm was that the first movie to feature the necronomicon? I saw a dvd issue some years ago but I didn't know it ever actually went to theaters. I thought it was a student project. It is pretty short.

	1:06am Wm.: Indeed, I saw it both in the theater and later many x on local TV. Was a cult favorite for the now-40-50-somethings who were kids at that time! Criterion did that double DVD, with two different versions of the film included.
	1:07am Wm.: Yes Equinox aka The Beast was also a direct inspiration for Sam Raimi's Evil Dead. They were indeed students, who among other things, worshiped the animation of Ray Harryhausen.
