Favoriting December 29, 2015: DAVID LANG (Bang on a Can/Youth OST)
Bang on a Can co-founder and Pulitzer Prize for Music award-winning composer DAVID LANG joins Morricone Island to discuss his latest film score for Italian director Paolo Sorrentino's "Youth" starring Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel and Jane Fonda. "Simple Song #3" from "Youth" was nominated for the 2016 Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song and is a likely contender for an Academy Award nomination. Lang has also scored "(Untitled)" and documentary "The Woodmans" as well as writing the arrangements for the Kronos Quartet in "Requiem for a Dream." davidlangmusic.com bangonacan.org

Listener Robert:

It brings to my mind the scene from "The Jerk", wherein the Jerk is retrieving the things he "needs" to go live on the street when he's bust.

Nothing on 91.1, but web stream and app are OK.
  7:59pm
JakeGould:

@Snortley: You’re the expert on this. Sounds like the 91.1FM signal is transmitting dead air but is not off the air itself, right? Like some in-studio issue.

Irene:

I just called station manager Ken. He's on it.
