The Tia Blake was so close miked that I thought my neighbor was banging on the walls.

Curious I've never heard of the Khalsa String Band.

As you probably know, there were lots of cult groups in the UK and Western Europe in the 1870s, a few from as early as the 1830s. (wouldn't have any recordings, unfortunately).

Santos L Halper:

Dang, missed Khalsa SB. Was thinking of that record earlier this week. NGH, I discovered it through the Washed Out mix, worth finding

I hope you're writing/illustrating a huge book on this 'unhealthy obsession'. I appreciate your perspective. Love the show: horrifying, hilarious, and humbling somehow.

Sorry, Micah. Really interesting, but the Omnicron Ceti 3 was a mediocre Christian song too much! My colleague says he prefers the Christians' earlier stuff -- way better, all that old-fashioned chanting.

We're a bookshop -- believe me, everyone IS a critic!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:14am

that was not a xian song it was a star trek song
  8:29am
Santos L Halper:

@micah: hah, missed the track but was wondering if omnichron ceti 6 was anywhere near ceti alpha 6
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:33am
micah:

Omicron Ceti III was the inhabited third planet orbiting the primary Omicron Ceti. The planet was affiliated with the United Federation of Planets. Omicron Ceti III was suitable for colonization by humanoid lifeforms if the colonists were able to counter the harmful side effects of Berthold rays.

G'TZAG Micah and everybody! I have this Brother to Brother record, but I haven't given it a proper listen, the vocals this track reminds me of Mandrill. Killer set, as always!

Speaking of things cult-y/church-y, just recently found out that the Church of Satan has been based out of my hometown for quite a while now --> www.believermag.com...

Santos L Halper:

Ah, Berthold Rays sound familiar. Need to brush up on my UFP colonial history.

I wonder if any WFMU DJ has aired all the various songs based on "Stayin' Alive"? All in one program.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 8:47am
micah:

that would be awful
Avatar 8:48am
PKNY:

I was in the other room while the "Staying Alive" was playing, and I could swear she was singing "Kofi Annan!"

This Bear Bones Lay Low is really cool. I opened up a video for something and I thought, "Man... what cool music they are using!" Forgetting I had the WFMU stream going.

Morning all!

The person who wrote this Frito song also penned "It's a Small World"?
