@bobdoesthings: Wonder if Lily and her older sister Hannah are listening to this show now?

I once read that David Bowie cited the record Paralyzed as being influential on his career. I would imagine if you had any doubt about your viability as an artist, that record would completely knock you off the fence (and into the trash can).

Dan Bodah:

Hi all. Yes, David Bowie has invited the LSD Cowboy to perform at events David's organized. He apparently borrowed the notion of a Stardust person for his Ziggy character. BTW Guess who's playing drums on that track?
  7:11pm
Hannah Newton:

Hi it's Hannah Lillies sister I hoped you enjoyed tonight
  7:12pm
JakeGould:

FWIW, David Bowie was a fan of Uncle Floyd as well. John Lennon introduced him to the show when Bowie and him hung out in NYC. Lord bless goofball culture.

I read Irwin's book on Ledge (and others). You'd think I'd know. But my brain is mush and my ability to retain trivia is shot.

@DanBodah: I don’t know how Michael Winslow (aka: the guy from the “Police Academy” movies that makes noises with his mouth) can be worked into this show, but it’s an idea. Ditto with Charlie Callas.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:37pm
dale:

throw some backwards talking midget and klingon in there and it's a party!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:38pm
Dan Bodah:

@RRN63, thanks -- @Jake, who's Charlie Callas? Michael Winslow is on my list, just haven't gotten around to him yet.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:39pm
Rich in Washington:

Michael Winslow is amazing! He's doing some pretty cool voice stuff that goes way beyond the novelty of the Police Academy or his standup stuff. Check out his history of the typewriter.

Charlie Callas. Man - it *hurts* to remember the 20thCentury as this extinct thing...
Avatar Swag For Life Member 7:52pm
Dan Bodah:

Yes, I suppose I will have to play the Scatman at some point. I'm still finding my way with scat but trying to include it as I am able.

Listener Robert:

In case you haven't heard, the death threats to him & his family convinced Art Bell to pass his current show on to another host, his producer for the past ~5 mos. who'd been recruited from a Web board that comments on the show. I'm guessing the stalker had nothing against the show's content, but only feared the waves emanating from Bell's ham rig & antenna farm.
  7:54pm
JakeGould:

All good. No demands. Just ideas.
  7:56pm
JakeGould:

@ListenerRobert: No disrespect, but 100% of utterly anybody here is talking about Art Bell here. Sorry if this means something to you, but seriously.

Well, Jake, it's about RADIO & the strange things that can happen to the people making it.
  8:11pm
Listener Robert:

Also, I thought it was interesting the way Heather Wade suddenly became a m.c. It's like someone on these comment lines was tapped to be a producer at WFMU, and then after some months was thrust onto the mic. But that HAS happened here, hasn't it, just over a longer time?

Ingeborg Hallstein was born in the 30s, not singing (professionally) in the 30s. Pretty incredible nonetheless!

Henry, thanks for the correction. I had her confused with another coloration soprano I was considering playing. And hey, thanks for turning me on to the Julius Monk Review many many years back. "Autumn at the Automat" is still a big fave in our house.
