Also in regards to breathing while you sing. I don't think it's possible for our bodies to be expelling air while also intaking air. Circular breathing is a technique that utilizes storing air in your entire mouth and using your cheek muscles to push that stored air out while inhaling with your lungs. I'm fairly certain that's how it works. Call me out if I'm certainly wrong though.

@Ned re circular breathing -- I know. It seems impossible. I once asked a musician about it without thinking and he just kind of looked at me stunned and laughed. But recently, I read something with a reference to circular breathing as being used with some kind of extended vocal technique. Maybe the Inuit-style throatsinging, where there are breaks for the gasps? I dunno.
