About 10 items? I say 12 items unless there are multiples of 1 item. Like 10 cans of the same item should just be counted as 1 item since it’s being scanned and checkout folks can do quantity.

a) it shouldn't say "about" anything, but since it did,
b) 12

not sure about this: 10 cans of the same item should just be counted as 1 item

lars:

In the national electric code (NEC, for electrical construction regulations) 125% capacity safety buffer is an often re-occurrence.... can we accept that? 12.5 items max per "10 items or less"

Hi Folks, Did the pop-up player just skip for anyone?
Avatar 11:21am

Lars - sounds reasonable
  11:23am
JakeGould:

@MichaelShelley: Yes! 10 items of the same thing can be counted as 1 item since they are using a computer and it can be multiplied.

I still need to listen to that complete appearance.

Oh, i see now. It was?? HMM. It was, from their first CD. "That is Why"
Avatar 11:31am

But it was no hit by any measure. It got the most radio run when the record came out.

Thanks, BABY! I had forgotten about them.

The real problem with "10 items or less" is that it should be "10 items or fewer."
  12:08pm
JakeGould:

@GaylordFields: Store signage and grammar/spelling don’t mix. Was stunned when I went to BookOff (Japanese resale shop in Midtown) and all of the signage was coherent and made sense and was reasonable.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:08pm
Gaylord Fields:

Close, but no cigar: The correct answer is "Car 54." It's been scientifically determined.
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:11pm
ChrisB.:

Well, Gaylord, both shows were created by Nat Hiken, so there is a confluence.

Can Harry talk a little about 'the Day The Clown Cried'? I think he's one of the few people who have seen it!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 12:13pm
Gaylord Fields:

@ChrisB: Don't you TV-splain me!

But seriously, read the Nat Hiken bio, if you haven't already — it's illuminating.
Avatar 12:26pm
David Shortell:

I saw Harry at the Jewish Community Center in Deal back in 2006, around the time the Borat movie came out. He expressed hesitancy to see that film since he normally disapproved of "prank humor".
That struck me as odd considering that Spinal Tap appeared, costumed and in character, on the Joe Franklin Show --and Joe thought they were real!

I'm happy that Harry Shearer agreed to stay with The Simpsons. He'd be pretty tough to replace.

I would have to agree with Gaylord. Car 54 is the correct answer. I've watched the Bilko show, just recently, and it doesn't even make me crack a smile.
