Sheila, Do you know a early 70s girl rock band called "Fanny"? Two Hawaian sisters- June and Jean Milligan who play electric guitar and bass, and a piano player named Nicki. Great original rock and roll. And others too.

I had 2 of their records in the 90s but lost them (aaah!). I never knew they had a single. I think there may be another band called Fanny. My "Fanny" has June and Jean Milligan and I know you would love them. I cannot remember any song titles but will research and try to jog my memory. Thx!
  4:09pm

I remember Fanny being kind of a boogie/blues type outfit, and their best songs could be covers (e.g. "Badge" by Cream and "Special Care" by Buffalo Springfield).

@djsheilab: In 2013, I saw Lou Christie as the special guest star at the Palm Springs Follies (R.I.P.)! He put on a hell of a show, and I was happy to hear that he could still get that falsetto up there! I was too intimidated to go up to him afterward when he was hanging out in front of the theater. I was afraid I'd blurt out something gushy, like telling him that "Egyptian Shumba" is the greatest song ever recorded!
Avatar Swag For Life Member 4:42pm
listener james from westwood:

@SheilaB that Lou Christie story was adorable. Dug the track, too. The refrain reminded me of early Cher solo work for some reason. In a slightly lower register!
