Free beer and chicken is he name of a John Lee Hooker album from 1974 and also the name of a local band about 20 years ago. There are probably other references from earlier days, too. It was a ruse to get people to come to a show; they thought they'd get alcohol & food without paying anything. Viral marketing!

It's ironic when you're gifted @ Realism / Representation. Since photography I think. I think people might take it for granted & dismiss - *because* the Artist has that much skill @ reproduction. You could miss the Impressionism & taste this guy has. In fact - I sort of misjudged my own Father's paintings this way - as a bratty little know-nothing Modernist. Well - my Dad's skills did exceed his vision & taste...
